I think many bloggers go through this sort of change, but I believe your ability to adapt to keep it relevant *to you* is most important.

I, for one, will follow what you blog here or at your new space. I've got them both in my Google Reader.

What a lovely event. I'll check out the videos soon.

I support your vision of a Pacific Islander writing community. It would definitely benefit me. Till then, I hope you'll keep writing here, too.

Thanks for the mention.

Thanks, Barbara Jane, for the comments and the offer of help and advice! It's true, there is always more work to be done and lovefests can remind us why we want to do that work, why having more work is a good thing.

I think you're right about the less loving times too. Those times are necessary, and even at their worst, signs of people caring enough to reveal and struggle with a community's differences.

I do really admire the PAWA blog and will keep coming back to it. I hope it can be a blueprint and future tool, and I'll keep your offer of help in mind for the work to come. Thanks again!

Maile, thanks so much for your kind words and many critical thoughts here. Certainly there is always much work that continues to need to be done, and so I think it's important to allow yourself the lovefest, you know?

I think the reading was a success, and I think you all did a great job of bringing community out.

As for the opposite of the lovefest, I am beginning to think this is also necessary in order for the community to continue to grow, from critical self-examination, etc.

And as for the Pinay writing community, thanks so much for the compliment. Much opposite of lovefest occurs there, and I oftentimes need to remind myself that it's OK to rest and let others do some work too. Definitely, our Pinay and Pinoy artist networking has been a work in progress which has morphed a few times, and which I am only recently coming into as a "leader," having had a few years of benefiting from it as a student and mentee. I am glad to hear that my maintaining the PAWA blog can serve as a sort of blueprint for your communities. Having a few central e-places to organize and distribute information has been one of a few helpful, and surprisingly far-reaching tools.

Anyway, also do know that I am always happy to offer advice or be of help as I can.
